O trabalho das enfermeiras nas unidades de saúde pediátricas: satisfação e insatisfação. Orientador: Dr. Jonas Sâmi Albuquerque de Oliveira. 2024. 105f. Dissertação (Mestrado em Enfermagem) - Centro de Ciências da Saúde, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2024.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/58285The experiences of pleasure and suffering determine the subject's relationship with their work and can culminate in the production of health and psychological illness among workers. Pleasure tends to be manifested through feelings such as recognition and affinity with work, that is, positive experiences. On the other hand, failure, frustration and impotence point to suffering, when they contradict the expectations of this subject. Given this, the general objective of the study was to analyze aspects of the work process that trigger satisfaction and dissatisfaction among nurses who carry out their work activities in pediatric services in a capital in northeastern Brazil. This is an analytical study with a qualitative approach, using the Psychodynamics of Christophe Dejours' work as a theoretical framework. Eighteen nurses working in three public pediatric health services of medium and high complexity in the city of Natal/RN participated in the study. A semi-structured in-person interview was used as a method to obtain data in each participant's preferred location, associated with a field diary. Subsequently, the content analysis was conducted with the help of the Atlas.ti 23 software. The codes resulting from the analysis were grouped into three distinct, but interrelated, macrocategories: Pleasure at work as a pediatric nurse, Suffering and dissatisfaction with the work of a pediatric nurse, Strategies for living life beyond work and future expectations of pediatric nurses. The elements of satisfaction exposed were the development of care due to the affinity with the pediatric specialty, especially when the child recovers, good relationships with peers in the multidisciplinary team and with families, as well as empathy from the immediate supervisor. However, work overload, distancing from institutional management, related to poor organization of Nursing staffing, staff shortages and undervaluation of the specialty, were the main factors that contributed to job dissatisfaction. The results also revealed strategies that minimize the exhaustion of participants, such as quality family time, leisure, physical and playful activities, religiosity, among others. As for future expectations, the desire to change profession and retire were mentioned. It was concluded that the research participants are partially satisfied with their work, especially the nurses in intensive care, and that the factors revealed could be fundamental for improving their work process in relation to their teams, institutional and political management. All research was developed in compliance with Resolution 466/12 of the National Health Council and the General Data Protection Law n.13.709/2018, having been approved by CEP/UFRN with opinion no. 6.278.155.Acesso AbertoEnfermeiraEnfermeira pediátricaCriançaPediatriaPrazerSatisfação no trabalhoSofrimento psicológicoO trabalho das enfermeiras nas unidades de saúde pediátricas: satisfação e insatisfaçãoThe work of nurses in pediatric health units: satisfaction and insatisfactionmasterThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ENFERMAGEM
