Dissertação (Mestrado em Estudos da Mídia) - Centro de Ciências Humanas, Letras e Artes, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2021.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/44834This research proposes to reflect on female beauty stereotypes on the Instagram app. The corpus of this study is composed of posts made by users of this social network. We know that digital media has changed people's behaviors, habits and ways of consuming information, communication and social relations. On Instagram, the social network of interest in this research, life is narrated through publications. The posts of this network in sequence compose a showcase where the beautiful female body is exposed wrapped in categorical discourses of beauty stereotypes. In a scenario that calls for visibility, this research proposes to analyze the discursive production of the stereotypes of female beauty on Instagram, using Foucault’s archaeology and genealogy and discourse analysis as research tools. In addition to Foucault's foundation (2014a, 2020, 2019), this research is also supported by Debord (1997), Lasch (1985) and Bauman (2001) in the social field, Castro (2001), Sibilia (2016), Santaella (2018) and Sant'anna (2014) in the notions of body and beauty and Veiga-Neto (2007), Veyne (2011), Gregolin (2015) Fischer (2005) and countless other voices that contributed to the theoretical basis of this text. We found that the statements produced on Instagram result in the construction of stereotypes of a beautiful female body.Acesso AbertoInstagramDiscursoCorpoSubjetividadeMulheresVitrine do eu: a construção discursiva de estereótipos de beleza feminina no InstagrammasterThesis
