However, there is a small number of pregnant women who may suffer some harm and may present greater probabilities of unfavorable gestational evolution. The objective of this study is: To describe the sociodemographic and epidemiological profile of the women living in the municipality of Santa Cruz / RN, who are attending the High Risk Pre-Natal in a University Hospital. We used a retrospective study with a quantitative approach, where the records of high-risk prenatal care were analyzed. The results pointed out to pregnant women living in peripheral neighborhoods, aged between 15 and 35 years, with good level of schooling, married and single, working outside the home, without previous vices or pathologies, with a family history of diabetes and hypertension. These being between the first and second gestation, with no history of abortion or gestational intercurrences. They were referred to the high risk for hypertension, followed by the extremes of age, and started prenatal high risk in the first trimester of pregnancy. It is concluded that the implementation of progress in maternal health care is fundamental, considering that it is a reference institution for the follow-up of high-risk pregnancies.
