    Based on theoretical perspectives that associate culture and politics and focusing on the author's political engagement, the objective of this research is to investigate the cartography of Latin America described in the trilogy Memory of Fire (1982-1986), by the Uruguayan writer Eduardo Galeano (1940-2015). The source of analysis for this research is the third and final book, Century of the Wind (1986), in order to uncover not only the literary and historical sense of the trilogy, but also the author's political goals and his motivations for writing. The methodological operation consisted of analyzing the short stories of the book and the author's reflections on the trilogy in articles and interviews, aiming to understand what Galeano meant by “giving voice to what the official history forgot” and “rescuing the kidnapped memory”, from Latin America, which are the key points of the trilogy.

    The objective of this work is to study the spaces present in the life and work of poetess Auta de Souza, more precisely the poetic construction of these spaces. We organize these spaces into two categories: interior and exterior spaces. For this, we take as a basis the concept of space presented by the historian Michel de Certeau, building a dialogue with the reflections of the philosopher Gaston Bachelard. Thus, through the conception of an interior space, we seek to think Auta de Souza's work as a self-writing, in which the poetess narrates her life, her relationships with family and friends, her feelings, her pains and nostalgia. On the other hand, based on the notion of exterior space, we sought to research the displacements made by Auta de Souza due to her illness - tuberculosis -, as well as the places and stories of other people recorded by the poetess in her verses. Finally, we seek to think Auta de Souza as a nineteenth-century black intellectual from Rio Grande do Norte, based on the discussion of the spaces conquered by the poetess in the midst of an intellectual universe dominated by white men. We use as a privileged source her only book of poems, Horto, as well as some other biographical and academic works that present the poetess as an object of study.

    The central purpose of this work is to reflect, through the analysis of the newspapers of Teresina, the construction of supposed roles and moral orders directed at women, in which they were subjected to an onslaught of restriction and demarcation of their living space, through bourgeois arguments and medical-sanitary speeches, a dynamic of moralization that resulted in certain stereotypes to female behaviors and confinements in certain worn and outdated attributions in the interior of the city of Teresina / PI in the 1970s. But, at the same time, we seek to discuss how the modernization process of this capital in the same period affected the female figure, of which the greater visibility in the public scenario appeared to be related to the conquest of rights, especially in relation to education and professionalization, the which were certainly great motivators for the many other female successes throughout the 20th century. Based mainly on the newspaper O Dia consulted in the Public Archive of Piauí, in addition to bibliography of local historians, with emphasis Jurandir Gonçalves Lima (2016), Bernardo Pereira de Sá Filho (2017), Elizangela Barbosa Cardoso (2010). In order to support the analyzes, it is also sought to elaborate a theoretical support in authors such as Michel Foucault (1984), Pierre Bourdieu (1998), Roger Chartier (1990), John Thompson (2011), Anthony Giddens (1993), Michelle Perrot (2007), Joan Scott (1995). In this way, contributing to increased knowledge changes and their dispositions, possibly conflicting and contrary, pointed out the way in which the society of the time reflected and recognized certain transformations experienced by women in public and private spaces.

    A cidade jurídica da República da Bruzundanga: a burocracia e o espaço em Lima Barreto (1900-1922)
    (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, 2021-02-18) Costa, Thiago Venícius de Sousa; Albuquerque Júnior, Durval Muniz de; ; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7585947992338412; ; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3120096076562584; Sales Neto, Francisco Firmino; ; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3836760295812952; Sousa, Ana Cristina Meneses de; ; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8467477383770313
    This research proposes to discuss the fictional creations of Bruzundanga country in the work of Lima Barreto, which reflect the historical events of the city of Rio de Janeiro, in the pictures of Brazil’s First Republic. Above all, the legal dimension and the spatialities of this country are treated, the difficulties that, according to the writer, were faced to give carnality to the dreams of the orderly and republican city. From then on, the obstacles experienced by the statesmen who did little or almost nothing to remove the republican dreams of a country and an ideal city are shown. The object of this research is the constant references that Barreto made about the Law, that allow to create visibilities and sayings about the organization of the national bureaucratic space. The debates on the history of the body and the sensibilities guide the theoretical discussions of this work, and throughout the research, points of dialogue are built with David Le Breton, Georges Vigarello, Erving Goffman, Jean Jacques Courtine and Claudine Haroche. The sources mobilized to develop the discussion are articles, chronicles, short stories, novels, correspondences (active and passive), and Barreto's diaries. The cartographic method is used to read and study the sources, particularly the debate developed by Suely Rolnick in his sentimental Cartography. The time frame of this research began in 1900, based on the writing time of the first notes by Lima Barreto in his Intimate Diary, and we ended our investigation in 1922, the year that marks the writer’s death.

    O avesso da ruína: invenção e reinvenção de Pasárgada na obra de Manuel Bandeira (1917-1954)
    (2016-09-14) Cavalcanti, Felipe Alves Paulo; Albuquerque Júnior, Durval Muniz de; ; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7585947992338412; ; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6902064913510545; Arrais, Raimundo Pereira Alencar; ; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8252775667149757; Coelho, Eduardo dos Santos;
    In this work, we analyze the historical construction of a well-established image in the Brazilian imaginary: Pasárgada. Believing that images are made of the various investments of desire which incide upon them, that they are elaborated and reelaborated in the course of time, we aim to expose here the birth and the successive reformulations of Pasárgada in the work of Manuel Bandeira. Hence, we divided our investigation in four chapters: firstly, we approach the social decline of Manuel Bandeira’s family, marked by the transition of an idealized patriarchal regime and a new era of bourgeois and urban social relations in Brazil. In a second moment, we examine Bandeira’s first works, A Cinza das Horas and Carnaval, composed after the poet became ill in 1904, to expose some of the creative procedures that would persist in his later work, also being used in the creation of the poem “Vou-me Embora Pra Pasárgada”. In the third chapter, we investigate the development of new creative procedures and resources by Manuel Bandeira during the Brazilian “roaring 1920s”, acquired in the contact with three different artistic fronts: the bohemian scene, in Rio de Janeiro; the Brazilian modernist movement, in São Paulo; and the traditionalist regionalism, led by Gilberto Freyre in Recife, which provided Bandeira with the ideas and the poetical resources he would employ in the creation of the poetical space called “Pasárgada”. Lastly, in the fourth chapter, we discuss the “biographical” sense that Bandeira and other authors would associate to this poetical space after the publication of Libertinagem, in 1930, starting a series of biographical and autobiographical texts that culminate in the publishing of Manuel Bandeira’s autobiography, Itinerário de Pasárgada, in 1954.

    A city is made not only to streets, sidewalks, buildings, bridges and viaducts. The city is also built by layers of sediment from the past that blend with layers of sediments present. The city's it's art, it's sociability is written. The aim of this study is to analyze how Mossoró historiographically the narrative is built by Luís da Câmara Cascudo. With this objective, we divide the work into three chapters. At first, we investigate the investment that the prefecture of the Mossoró city at the beginning of the forties, under the administration of Dix-sept Rosado, held for the construction of what would be the city's culture. A culture that was linked to the creation of a library, a museum, a university, the completion of several lectures on the themes of the city, and writing the history of Mossoró. The second chapter discusses the historical conditions of possibility that made Luís da Câmara Cascudo of the town historian. In the last chapter, we show how Mossoró was built by Cascudo from the specific analysis of the book Notas e Documentos para a história de Mossoró (1955). We discuss the conditions for its emergence, examining the interplay of interests that enabled its production
