In Primary Health Care (PHC), effective prevention requires systematic practices, continuous risk assessment, and ongoing training of the nursing team. This methodologicalstudy aimed to develop a practical, evidence-based guide to support nursing professionals in preventing PI in bedridden older adults receiving home care. The study was conducted in two stages: an integrative literature review carried out in the BVS, SciELO, and CAPES Portal databases between 2017 and 2025, following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, which resulted in the selection of 38 scientific articles; and the subsequent development of the guide, grounded in the findings of the review and in official documents such as those from ANVISA and the NPIAP. The analysis revealed a high vulnerability of older adults to PI and the absence of standardized tools specifically adapted to the PHC context. It also highlighted risk factors associated with immobility, inadequate nutrition, excessive moisture, skin fragility, and caregiver overload. These findings supported the construction of a structured guide containing updated definitions and classifications of PI, instructions for applying the Braden Scale, evidence-based preventive strategies, educational recommendations for caregivers, and guidelines for documentation and monitoring. Ethical considerations were ensured, as thisstudy relied exclusively on publicly available bibliographic data. The developed guide represents an important educational technology to standardize care, strengthen patient safety, and support clinical nursing practice in PHC, with the potential to reduce the occurrence of PI and improve home care for bedridden older adults.Master Thesis Acolhimento e vínculo na atenção primária à saúde: percepções de profissionais de saúde(Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, 2025-10-29) Lima, Larissa Rafaelly Pereira; Valença, Cecilia Nogueira; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3998-3983; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2788316719185705; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1763-3918; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3688786356083814; Freitas, Rafaela Carolini de Oliveira; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-0644-668X; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4017906740512071; Lucena, Silvia Kalyma Paiva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2095279974807713Introduction: Reception in Primary Health Care (PHC) is a practice based on qualified listening, respect, and shared responsibility, and is essential for building bonds between professionals and patients. Therefore, by promoting attentive listening and strengthening bonds, reception becomes an indispensable strategy for ensuring patients seek health services and effectively addressing their needs. Objective: To understand health professionals' perceptions of the importance of reception and connection in the context of PHC care. Methodology: This is a qualitative study with a descriptive-exploratory design. Data collection took place from February 2025 to July 2025. The study population consists of health professionals working in PHC in the municipality of Santa Cruz, Rio Grande do Norte. Considering the qualitative nature of the research, the sample size was determined based on data saturation. Data collection was conducted using an individual semi-structured questionnaire, and data were analyzed using Bardin's content analysis technique. Once the corpus was formatted, the data were processed in IRaMuTeQ® (version 0.8a7), and Descending Hierarchical Classification (DHC), word cloud analysis, and similarity graph analysis were requested. Expected results: Nine healthcare professionals were interviewed. The interviewees perceived welcoming as an essential tool in the PHC context and favors the development of professional-patient bonds. Categorization was performed by integrating the research objectives with Bardin's content analysis and the IRaMuTeQ® DHC results. The DHC generated seven classes. These classes were subsequently grouped into two broad categories: one related to social interactions in the care process and the other related to the organization/structure of services. The seven classes are: "Aspects involved in care"; "Feelings related to welcoming"; "Actions for effective welcoming"; "Organization and flow in the unit"; "Bonding and continuity of care"; "Care and listening"; "Communication and qualified listening." Thus, the classes highlight the aspects that permeate the context of user care, with an emphasis on actions that strengthen the relationship between users and professionals. The word cloud also highlighted the "patient" as the center of these actions. Furthermore, through analysis of the participants' statements, it was possible to identify how these practices are understood and applied, and the challenges professionals face in implementing them. Final considerations: This study proposes a reflection on welcoming and bonding in PHC, considering the importance of these elements for the humanization and effectiveness of care. By recognizing these elements ascentral to strengthening PHC, the research findings prompt reflections on the importance of welcoming and how this principle impacts the process of user care.Master Thesis Orientações para o acolhimento às mulheres em situação de violência psicológica na atenção primária à saúde(2025-09-29) Desidério, Bárbara Monique Alves; Severo, Ana Kalliny de Sousa; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-9548-6394; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5170430928839162; https://orcid.org/0009-0008-7435-0747; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6321878965739431; Nagashima, Alynne Mendonça Saraiva; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7939-3059; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8869678305441029; Ferreira Júnior, Antonio RodriguesThe National Policy for Confronting Violence Against Women established a network of public services to address violence, encompassing healthcare, public security, justice, and social assistance. However, Primary Health Care, as the entry point to the Unified Health System and the network for confronting violence against women, becomes a privileged setting for addressing the physical and psychological harm resulting from such violence. Therefore, it is essential that its professionals are qualified in psychological violence to enhance the effectiveness of the actions they can undertake. These actions include mandatory reporting, referral to specialized services, the collection and recording of epidemiological data, and knowledge production for public policy formulation. Consequently, this research aimed to analyze the guidelines for welcoming women experiencing psychological violence in Primary Health Care through two qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory multi-method studies. The first study is an "on-paper" Institutional Analysis, which aims to identify gaps in the guidelines for professional practices within Primary Health Care for welcoming women in situations of psychological violence. These guidelines are contained within three volumes of the National Policy for Confronting Violence Against Women Collection. The second study is a scoping review that followed the methodological recommendations of the Joanna Briggs Institute Manual for Evidence Synthesis 2024 and the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews - PRISMA-ScR. The screening of records was conducted using the Intelligent Systematic Review software - Rayyan© 2016, with the objective of identifying the scope and relevance of studies and research on professional practices that guide Primary Health Care in welcoming women experiencing violence, specifically within the realm of psychological violence. Both studies highlight the central role of Primary Health Care in early identification and adequate support, pointing to the urgent need for developing specific protocols, continuous training, and strengthening intersectoral and territorially-based coordination among the services within the network for confronting violence against women. They also emphasize the need for collective knowledge construction to qualify professional practices. By recognizing psychological violence as a complex and multidetermined phenomenon, this research proposes integrated approaches that transcend the biomedical model. It contributes to Collective Health by strengthening comprehensive and equitable care and by collaborating with the formulation of contextualized public policies. This promotes the safety and agency of vulnerable women, helps overcome structural inequalities, and guarantees the rights and dignity of women victims of psychological violence, incorporating interdisciplinary approaches that consider the social, economic, and cultural determinants of gender violence. This study addresses violence against women as a public health issue, focusing on the role of Primary Health Care (PHC) professionals and the challenges that hinder the provision of comprehensive care for women experiencing violence within the health system. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the impact of a Permanent Health Education (PHE) workshop for PHC professionals on the topic of violence against women. METHODOLOGY: This is an exploratory and descriptive methodological study aimed at the design and implementation of a permanent education workshop for health professionals on violence against women in PHC in Assú/RN. The training activities took place between October 8 and 29, 2024, and were conducted by the author of the study. To evaluate the workshop’s impact, an instrument based on the document “Guidelines for monitoring and evaluation of permanent education policy actions” published in 2022 by the Brazilian Ministry of Health was applied. Data were organized and systematized in Microsoft Excel 2013 spreadsheets. In addition, the researcher’s field diary was used for qualitative analysis, recording perceptions, interactions, difficulties, and subjective aspects of the process, analyzed under the PHE framework. The study was approved by CEP-HUOL/UFRN under opinion no. 7.059.963. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION: Thirteen PHC professionals from the municipality of Assú/RN participated in the activities, all of them female. Most participants were under 30 years old and worked as nurses. It was found that the indicators Satisfaction and Performance, assessed in the dimensions “Evaluation of the perception of the educational activity” and “Evaluation of learning,” respectively, showed positive results. In addition, difficulties in the implementation of the workshop were identified, particularly the transition between administrations and the low participation of professionals. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS: The workshop enabled PHC professionals to develop flowcharts for action with women in situations of violence, strengthening municipal strategies. However, structural challenges persist, such as the centralization of care within social assistance and the weak articulation of the Health Care Network (HCN).Master Thesis Fortalecendo à saúde do trabalhador por meio do controle social e da atenção primária à saúde: uma análise documental(Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, 2024-12-06) Lima, Jaqueline Araújo Paula; Valença, Cecilia Nogueira; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3998-3983; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2788316719185705; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7454689541113873; Tavora, Rafaela Carolini de Oliveira; Oliveira, Renata CardosoIntroduction: Workers' health requires an organization that prioritizes efficiency and wellbeing. In Primary Health Care (PHC), preventive actions can protect workers exposed to occupational risks. Care such as the use of personal protective equipment and compliance with public policies, such as the National Policy for Workers' Health (PNSTT), reinforce safety and quality of life in the workplace, with the SUS as the protagonist in this guarantee. Objectives: To analyze worker health in the context of Primary Health Care through documentary research. Methodology: This is a documentary research with a qualitative approach where documents were analyzed on the RENAST Online Platform that permeate the PNSTT to strengthen the Workers' Health Care Network through Primary Care actions and services and social control. This study was possible because, as it is a documentary analysis, the necessary protocols were found in an accessible way on the RENAST Online Platform, through specific legislation and also related to Workers' Health. Results: They were divided into three chapters entitled: How is RENAST structured in Brazil; Epidemiological Surveillance in Occupational Health in Primary Health Care; and Analysis of RENAST Online protocols. Among the strategies for implementing the PNSTT, the role of the APS in carrying out assessment, control, and surveillance of occupational risks in companies and establishments stands out, observing the productive activities present in the territory, encouraging participation in the monitoring of epidemiological, sanitary, and environmental health surveillance actions, in addition to specific VISAT actions, analysis of the productive profile and health situation of workers, among other strategies for occupational health safety. Final considerations: In view of the above, the importance of working on this topic is realized in each reference studied and in the search to understand how health professionals deal with occupational accidents in their work routine and how the notification of injuries to Workers' Health occurs, in addition to knowledge about the Intersectoral Commission for Workers'.Master Thesis Processo de trabalho da enfermeira na atenção primária à saúde no Rio Grande do Norte - Brasil(Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, 2024-10-02) Lira, Jayara Mikarla de; Almeida Júnior, José Jailson de; Rosa, Marcelo Prado Amaral; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3294-8141; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0707052794691427; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8768677759534396; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0952086942250608; Alvarenga, José da Paz Oliveira; Caricio, Marcia Rique; Telles, Mauricio Wiering PintoIntroduction: The consolidation of Primary Health Care (PHC) determines the commitment of the Unified Health System (SUS) as a public policy for universal health. Among the professionals that comprise it, nurses are the largest workforce in quantitative terms in health care. The work of nurses in PHC has been established as an instrument for changes in health care practices in the SUS, as it responds to the proposal of the new care model that is centered on comprehensive care, contributing to the strengthening of public health. Objective: Describe the work process of nurses working in Primary Health Care, of five municipalities, in Rio Grande do Norte, Northeast, Brazil. Methodology: This is a qualitative study. It is characterized as an extract from the multicenter research of national scope entitled Nursing Practices in the Context of Primary Health Care (PHC): National Study of Mixed Methods. The data collection instrument was the interview. The participants were 45 nurses. The qualitative results were obtained in five municipalities in Rio Grande do Norte. The data analysis method used was Content Analysis, with the support of the IRaMuTeQ software. Results and discussion: Three final categories emerged: “Nurses’ work process in PHC”; “Performance of PHC nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic” and “Autonomy and recognition for nurses in PHC”. Regarding the work process, a concentration in programmatic groups, group work and spontaneous demand was observed. Also, in this scenario, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the routine of the Basic Health Unit, revealing obstacles such as lack of infrastructure, supplies and overload. The survey of aspects about autonomy and professional recognition highlights prenatal consultations and work with groups as areas of greater autonomy, but there is still a lack of legal support that allows for more independent action. When relating these two variables it is clear that as Since autonomy is low, there is little resolution in the development of actions, contributing to the population's understanding of nurses as medical “assistants”. Final considerations: There is little use of the work potential of nurses in PHC, with the need for comprehensive legal support to act comprehensively in caring for people, without fragmentation.Master Thesis Humanização na Atenção Primária à Saúde no contexto da pandemia de Covid-19(Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, 2023-07-24) Arraes, José Diêgo Bezerra; Oliveira, Luciane Paula Batista Araújo de; Almeida Júnior, José Jailson de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8768677759534396; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1629-8991; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6856229797544372; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3867948347956001; Magalhães, Adriana Gomes; Medeiros, Anna Cecilia Queiroz de; Lima, Gigliola Marcos Bernardo de; Cavalcante, Rosangela DinizIntroduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the strengths, but also the weaknesses that already exist in the different levels of care of the Unified Health System (SUS). In Primary Health Care (PHC), one of the challenges is the fulfillment of its essential attributes, however, there is also concern about the implementation of the guidelines of the National Humanization Policy (PNH), namely: welcoming, ambience, participatory management, defense of users' rights, appreciation of the worker and expanded clinic. Objective: To analyze compliance with PNH guidelines in PHC during the COVID-19 pandemic, from the user's point of view. Methods: Qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study, carried out with users assisted by the Family Health Strategy (ESF) in the municipality of Brejo Santo/CE. The research meets the criteria of resolution n° 466/12 of the National Health Council and was appreciated by the Research Ethics Committee (CEP) of the Faculty of Health Sciences of Trairi (FACISA)/Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN ), having obtained a favorable opinion from nº 5.538.037/2022. The collection technique was a semi-structured interview, guided by a script prepared by the research team. The study included users aged 18 years or over, registered in the ESF of the aforementioned municipality for at least two years. Those users who had flu signs or symptoms at the time of the interview were excluded, following the health recommendations adopted during the pandemic. Sampling was carried out for convenience, considering the period established for data collection (between September and December 2022), so that a total of 23 participants was reached. Results: Data were processed using the Iramuteq software and submitted to thematic content analysis. The Descending Hierarchical Classification revealed six classes that originated the thematic categories, namely: "Reception and access in the ESF"; "Ambience and appreciation of the worker as a health service qualification strategy"; and "The importance of co-management and defense of the rights of SUS users". Conclusion: During the COVID-19 pandemic, access to care was maintained, through necessary adaptations due to the health context experienced at the time of collection. Although some users are unaware of the SUS user rights booklet, which can cause weaknesses in popular participation, it was demonstrated, in general, that there was respect for compliance with the PNH guidelines in these services. It was interpreted that welcoming and ambience are guidelines that appear in the speeches through other terms, however, guidelines such as co-management and expanded clinic were not identified. This fact leads us to believe that, despite the many advances in recent years, the full realization of humanization in PHC is still a challenge for many teams, a path that can be followed through the strengthening of the various care technologies, which involve communication, empathy, strengthening the bond, valuing knowledge and proper use of the resources available for these services.Master Thesis Educação permanente na saúde da família mediada por tecnologias de educação à distância: um estudo de caso(Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, 2023-04-03) Ferreira, Julyenne Dayse de Oliveira; Valença, Cecilia Nogueira; Bay Júnior, Osvaldo de Goes; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1017-2346; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2537976144708382; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3998-3983; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2788316719185705; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2856-3270; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3934487854708969; Marinho, Cristiane da Silva Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6533587332872383; Bezerra, Hellyda de SouzaIntroduction: The Family Health Continuing Education Program is a health training strategy for professionals working in the Family Health Strategy. Conclusion: The Distance Learning modality of the Permanent Education Program in Family Health is configured as a strong permanent education strategy, contributing to the advancement of the teaching-learning process in the Unified Health System.Master Thesis Mortalidade por causas externas em pessoas idosas no Brasil(Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, 2023-04-10) Dias, Danilo Erivelton Medeiros; Marinho, Cristiane da Silva Ramos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6533587332872383; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5039-0914; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6384870466925404; Valença, Cecilia Nogueira; https://orcid.org/0000-0003-3998-3983; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2788316719185705; Araújo, Jéssica Naiara de Medeiros; Nogueira, Matheus FigueiredoHuman aging is a natural, dynamic and progressive process accompanied by several physiological, morphological, physical, biochemical and psychological changes that occur continuously over time. of deaths from infectious and parasitic diseases and increasing mortality from violent events described as external causes. Currently, external causes constitute a relevant public health problem, as they impact the quality of life of individuals and cause hospitalization and/or rehabilitation, disability or death. However, these are preventable events that can be avoided, with the Primary Health Care network having a fundamental, effective and efficient role in acting on the main causes and health problems, such as external causes. Thus, this dissertation aims to investigate mortality from external causes in elderly people in Brazil. Two studies were carried out, the first of the ecological type using secondary data, which aimed to analyze the trend of mortality from external causes in elderly people in Brazil in the time interval between the years 2000 to 2019. And the second study referring to a protocol scope review whose objective was to map and describe the scientific evidence on the role of Primary Health Care in the face of mortality from external causes in the elderly, which is based on the Joanna Briggs Institute Review Manual, 2015. The first study showed an upward trend in mortality rates from external causes in elderly people in Brazil during the study period. The interval between 2000 and 2014 was the period in which the coefficients of mortality from external causes in the elderly increased the most, with an average annual percentage change (APC) of 1.83 (95%CI: 1.6; 2.0). The second study aims to present the main evidence of research on the subject, allowing the identification of gaps in the literature, which can guide actions for coping with external causes in the elderly through Primary Health Care. The trend analysis of mortality from external causes in the elderly in Brazil showed a significant increase over the period studied (2000 to 2019). This finding reinforces the need for investments in public health and in actions aimed at this group of people. The development of a scope review protocol involving the performance of PHC in mortality from external causes in the elderly contributes to the summary of the scientific production published up to the moment, allowing the development of new knowledge about aspects not yet addressed that strengthen the performance of professionals working in PHC in more assertive behaviors to reduce the risk of mortality of elderly people from external causes.Master Thesis Trabalho na Atenção Primária à Saúde sob a luz da interprofissionalidade no contexto da pandemia da Covid-19(Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, 2023-03-15) Xavier, Pedro Bezerra; Guedes, Dimitri Taurino; Almeida Júnior, José Jailson de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8768677759534396; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7575524707167845; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2088975311359852; Magalhães, Adriana Gomes; Brandão, Gisetti Corina GomesThe complexity of the obstacles in the context of health care and the need to make systems more responsive to the demands of citizens trigger debates about the most appropriate ways to organize health care. Therefore, from the pandemic scenario due to COVID-19, greater demands and practices in health have been evidenced, increasing work overload and the complexity of health activities, also creating a context of instability and vulnerability. Therefore, it is necessary to understand these changes and, thus, to outline ways to effect collaborative and integrated work, from the establishment of an interdisciplinary dialogue, respecting the users' autonomy. This study has as a general objective to analyze the impacts of the pandemic of COVID-19 in the interprofessional work of Primary Health Care teams. And in this way, it is developed through two studies. The first article is an Integrative Literature Review (ILR), with the purpose of synthesizing results of studies already carried out. It was searched in PubMed, with the descriptors: "primary health care"; "interprofessionality"; "COVID-19", with the Boolean operator "AND". A total of 79 articles were obtained. After a critical reading of the documents, using the exclusion criteria, 7 articles were obtained. This article sought to contribute to the good development of the systematization of the interprofessional work process in health teams, improving the quality of care provided to the population and favoring the good functioning of health units. The second article is an exploratory, descriptive study with a qualitative approach, whose field of investigation will be the Basic Family Health Units in the municipality of Campina Grande, Paraíba. The study sample was composed of the health teams linked to the ESF. Data collection occurred between the months of January and April 2022. The content analysis was based on Bardin, with the help of the Atlas ti software. This research was submitted to the Ethics and Research Committee of the Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde do Trairi (FACISA/UFRN) and approved under CAAE number 54029521.0.0000.5568. From the content analysis, through data management by means of Atlas ti., the coding process of the interviews was carried out, which generated 4 categories of codes, being the following: interprofessional competencies, consequences of the pandemic of COVID-19, management and management, organization of the work process. The categories reveal that the main activities affected by the pandemic are health promotion, prevention and surveillance activities. From this perspective, The results indicate that the pandemic caused impacts on the interprofessional work in PHC, including the development of health promotion actions, fragmentation of prevention activities, changes in collaborative practices, lack of training provided by management, structural problems, distance between the service, professionals and the community and direct impacts on teamwork and quality of care. These results are relevant, and may contribute to future decisions about the theme; this study reveals actions that were impaired during the pandemic, and that need more attention.
