Efeito do uso crônico de Tobramicina sobre os níveis de glicose, HDL e triglicerídeos em ratos Wistar

Abstract

This study assessed the changes in blood glucose, HDL and triglycerides with the chronic use of tobramycin. Thirty-two adult male Wistar rats with 300 g were divided into two groups, one with saline and a control group, with tobramycin 4mg/kg. For both groups, the administration was daily, only during a period of four weeks. Each week, a subgroup was euthanized with sodium thiopental dosage 50mg/Kg and blood collected for biochemical evaluation. For the tests, we used the kits BioTécnica. The reading was held in 2000 BioPlus semiautomatic equipment. To check the differences between the groups Student's t test was used with significance level of 5% Graf Pad Install in the program. In the evaluation of glucose levels in can be observed that it the first, second and third weeks there was no significant difference between im groups. In the fourth week, there was a significant difference between the two groups (p <0.01). In relation to serum levels of HDL, there was no significant difference between the test group and control group in the first week. In the next three weeks, and we detected significant differences with the control group (p <0.05, p <0.01). In relation to the levels of triglycerides in the first three weeks there was no significant difference. In the fourth week, there was a significant difference between the two groups (p <0.01). The findings in the literature regarding the reduction of plasma glucose and HDL in kidney disease, as well as the elevation of serum triglycerides were also found in this study.
