Abstract

As chaves de pesquisa utilizadas foram: “histamine and gastritis”; “histamine, gastritis and allergy”; “mast cells and gastritis” e “respiratory allergies and gastritis”.

Abstract

The present study consists of a systematic literature review aimed at analyzing the relationships between defense cells, primarily mast cells and eosinophils, and gastrointestinal diseases. The review research was conducted using the PubMed database repository, focusing on articles published from 2008 to 2024. The search keywords used were: "histamine" and "gastritis"; "histamine", "gastritis" and "allergy"; "mast cells" and "gastritis" and "respiratory allergies" and "gastritis". Inclusion and exclusion criteria were established to ensure more accurate results. The findings of this study indicate that an increase in mast cells and eosinophils is frequently associated with symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, and reflux. It can be concluded that there is a considerable relationship between defense cells and these diseases. The study highlights the need for further research to develop a better understanding of this interaction and its implications.
