O mobiliário fúnebre em sítios com sepultamentos pré-históricos no Rio Grande do Norte: uma análise bibliográfica

Este trabalho teve como objetivo compreender como através do mobiliário fúnebre e das metodologias arqueológicas usadas para sua análise, podemos examinar suas tipologias e padrões e relacioná-las às práticas fúnebres exercidas por determinado povo. É precisamente com a arqueologia e seu estudo dos vestígios materiais encontrados que somos proporcionados com os fragmentos necessários para a construção de um entendimento maior das sociedades pré-históricas. O mesmo pode ser dito da arqueologia das práticas mortuárias, ou arqueologia da morte, uma vertente da área que busca fazer a mesma análise, porém com vestígios materiais ligados ao processo do sepultamento, que em certos casos continha presença de artefatos e/ou adornos, que formam o chamado mobiliário fúnebre. Buscando analisar esse material através da produção bibliográfica, o corte temporal decidido foi o de sítios pré-históricos no contexto norte-riograndense, com trabalhos publicados nas últimas décadas do século XIX e início do século XXII. Desse modo, foi possível observar os pressupostos e métodos da arqueologia funerária, assim como examinar a mobília fúnebre encontrada, seus tipos e eventuais padrões, para assim compreendermos arqueológica e antropologicamente a relação desses sepultamentos e seus rituais com os grupos culturais da época no Nordeste.

This study aimed to understand how, through funerary furniture and the archaeological methodologies used to analyze it, we can examine its typologies and patterns and relate them to the funeral practices carried out by a given people. It is precisely through archaeology and its study of the material remains found, that we are provided with the fragments necessary to build a greater understanding of prehistoric societies. The same can be said of mortuary archaeology, or the archaeology of death, a branch of the field that seeks to perform the same analysis, but with material remains linked to the burial process, which in certain cases contained the presence of artifacts and/or adornments, which form the so-called funerary furniture. Seeking to analyze this material through bibliographic production, the time frame chosen was that of prehistoric sites in the context of northern Rio Grande do Norte, with works published in the last decades of the XIX century and the beginning of the XXII century. In this way, it was possible to observe the assumptions and methods of funerary archaeology, as well as examine the funerary furniture found, its types and possible patterns, in order to understand archaeologically and anthropologically the relationship of these burials and their rituals with the cultural groups of the time.
