Pré-natal odontológico e a colaboração interprofissional: uma revisão integrativa

Abstract

The gestation period is a very peculiar moment in a woman's life. Among the changes experienced by women during pregnancy, hormonal changes, notably, can cause oral changes and have an impact on the health of the mother and her baby. Prenatal care must evaluate the pregnant woman's routine, carrying out consultations and requesting exams, providing guidance, so that integration between different health professionals occurs. Thus, this study aimed to identify in the literature what doctors and nurses know about dental prenatal care. To this end, the following five steps of the integrative review were followed: formulation of the research question, search for articles, selection of studies, assessment of the quality of the studies and analysis/synthesis of the results. Studies were selected from the US National Library of Medicine's PubMed database; Web of Science (WoS); Scopus and Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS), following the following inclusion criteria: studies that cover the theme of the work; texts available in full, online and free of charge. Studies that were incomplete and did not answer the research question were excluded. In the initial searches, 362 articles were found, of which 10 met the aforementioned criteria after reading in full. It is clear that fragmented work is still evident, with the need to reorient the prenatal care model. Furthermore, the vision of oral health and its insertion in this context needs to be expanded, in order to improve the practices developed by all professionals involved.
