dc.description.resumo	How to face a syphilis epidemic, declared in 2016 in Brazil, by the Ministry of Health, when all it has is an annual bulletin that presents data more than 18 months late? This is a worrying question, particularly for the decision-making bodies in the Brazilian National Health System (SUS), because they need qualified data and information, with adequate flows and transparency so that they can effectively order the conduction of public health policies, which are difficult aspects when faced with the scenario presented in this report.	pt_BR
