Post-biotics are defined as preparations of inanimate microorganisms and/or their components that confer health benefits to the host, and they represent valuable agents for wound treatment. Within this context, the present work aimed to conduct a literature review on the application of post-biotics in skin wound healing. The search was conducted in the databases Scopus, Web of Science, and Pubmed, resulting in the selection of 14 articles. The studies found indicated that post-biotics, obtained from bacterial strains, and applied either alone or in complexes, exhibit antioxidant, immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties that contribute to wound healing. It was also observed that these compounds can positively modulate the skin microbiota, playing an important role in its integrity and health. Despite the promising results, further studies are still needed to clarify their mechanisms of action and prove their clinical efficacy through clinical trials. Thus, postbiotics stand out as an innovative and promising alternative for the development of new therapeutic and preventive approaches for skin disorders.pt-BRAttribution 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/br/Pós-bióticosCicarizaçãoFeridasLesões cutâneasPós-bióticos na cicatrização de feridas: uma revisão de literaturabachelorThesis
