Methodology: This is a study exploratory-descriptive with a qualitative approach, in which data collections were carried out in Basic Health Units in the city of Caicó-RN, where the Multiprofessional Residence is located. For the waiting list, a semi-structured STEINBACH interview and a questionnaire were used to trace the sociodemographic profile. The sample is intentional, of convenience and account with 10 tutors and 09 residents. Data analysis was based on Bardin's thematic-categorical content analysis technique. Results: it was verified that the preceptors training for preceptorship improves each year and that the training institution provides methods for the best exercise the preceptor. For residents it is necessary to have two preceptors and a better approach from the training institution. Besides that, it was seen that the relationships of bonds are important in the process of building knowledge, in understanding the roles of each individual and in the development of joint activities. Conclusion: believed that those preceptors who have a higher qualification, optimize the teaching-learning process, besides that the creation of bonds, the integration of the activities developed and the recognition of the actors as protagonists of this training process, strengthens the exercise of preceptorship and as a final product, the improvement of services provided in the Unified Health System.PreceptoriaResidênciaAtenção primária a saúdeEnsinoPreceptiveResidencePrimary health careTeachingpostGraduateThesis
