It has a qualitative approach, is based on the critical dialectical method and to achieve the proposed objectives, a wide bibliographical review was carried out, documental research in medical records and field diaries and field research through the performance of 5 semi-structured interviews with women hospitalized in the referred ward, whose information was submitted to Content Analysis (BARDIN, 2016). The results indicate that the living and working conditions, as well as the history of violence and denial of basic human rights experienced by women, are potential for psychological suffering and the processes of illness which they experience. In this sense, it is essential to take into account the analysis of the social determination of health, the objective and subjective conditions of life, the ways of coping with social inequalities, thus supporting the health care practices developed by the interprofessional team of the Health Care Unit.
