Thus, in modern agricultural activity, it is important to know the production costs and profitability of the business. In this sense, the present work aimed to analyze the profitability of the production of 30 hectares of sweet potato on a property located in Touros/RN. The data for the formation of costs and revenues were made available by the producer with the help of a semi-structured questionnaire, which allowed the calculation of production costs and economic indicators. Considering the production costs that include inputs, land preparation, planting, cultural treatments, irrigation, depreciation and harvest, an average profitability of 38.17% was obtained, results very close to those of studies used for comparison. The total cost of producing a sweet potato cycle was R$ 14,580.00/hectare, resulting in R$ 435,240.00 for 30 hectares. Under the production conditions sampled, the property presented a profit at the end of the period, so economic return with the cultivation of this tuberous vegetable is viable.Viabilidade. Receita.
