One major product that has become a part of human life is beer, which, although an organic product, still contributes to environmental impact. Industries in this sector are continually seeking to develop methods and processes that make their product less harmful to the environment, and naturally, a crucial focus is on their discarded packaging. Companies have been promoting and publicizing new practices regarding their containers in an effort to leave a smaller footprint on this pressing issue. Recognizing this, the present study aimed to evaluate, through a comparative life cycle and contribution margin analysis, whether these market postures are genuinely aligning with sustainable initiatives or merely increasing their profits. Through this, it was possible to identify a disconnect between corporate interests in their products and environmental stewardship. The so-called sustainable initiatives are closer to contributing to company profits than to alternatives that proved to be less damaging to environmental impact.
