Descrição anatômica do acesso transmaxilar à base do crânio: estudo em cadáveres humanos. 2019. 38 f. Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Odontologia) - Departamento de Odontologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2019.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/39065Introduction: Surgeries for the treatment of skull base lesions have undergone great advances throughout history, and the insertion of maxillofacial surgery has occurred much more recently. However, the incorporation of maxillofacial surgery has contributed to the advancement of the treatment of some lesions that affect the base of the skull. Every surgical specialty needs is based on some other sciences, one of them is human anatomy. Objective: This study aims to present a description of facial anatomy during transmaxillary access to the base of the skull, using cadaveric dissection. Methodology: Dissections were performed in adult human skulls, located in the human anatomy laboratories of the Department of Morphology, of the Biosciences center of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, simulating the transmaxillary access to the base of the skull, in order to describe the Anatomy visualized in this approach. Results: Several anatomical findings can be visualized during transmaxillary access to the base of the skull and include bony accidents of the maxilla and surrounding bones; mucous tissues; blood vessels; peripheral nerves, muscle tissue, fibrous tissue, these being the main groups that constitute the anatomical structures found during access. Conclusions: We were able to observe several anatomical structures that were relevant during transmaxillary access to the base of the skull and that these structures were from bone structures that comprised from the maxilla to the sphenoid bone, passing through structures of soft tissues of the mucosa and neurovascular plexus, giving emphases to the infraorbital and palatal descending neurovascular beam, considering their surgical importance.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/AnatomiaAnatomyBase do CrânioBase of the SkullCirurgia maxilofacialMaxillofacial surgeryMaxilaMaxillaDescrição anatômica do acesso transmaxilar à base do crânio: estudo em cadáveres humanosAnatomical description of transmaxillary access based on skull: study on human cadaverbachelorThesis
