Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Odontologia) - Departamento de Odontologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, RN, 2025.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/61344Objective: To evaluate existing diagnostic methods for identifying dental crown cracks and fissures, and to determine which methods or combinations are most viable for clinical use. Methodology: The research used five databases: PubMed, Web Of Science, Science Direct, Scopus and Embase, with the descriptors "Cracked Tooth", "Cracked Teeth", "Dentistry" and "Diagnosis". The time frame covered 10 years (2014-2023). Results: 23 articles were analyzed. Of these, 17 were in vitro studies and 6 were clinical trials studies. Fourteen diagnostic methods for Cracked Tooth Syndrome were identified. The most common methods were visual inspection, conventional transillumination, clinical microscope, use of magnifying glass and radiographs. In addition to these, the studies evaluated several alternative diagnostic methods. Conclusion: Transillumination associated with near infrared (preferably with fluorescent dye indocyanine green) or fiber optic transillumination, and micro– Computed Tomography proved to be the most promising methods for evaluating Cracked Tooth Syndrome, both for immediate and complementary diagnosis, respectively.Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/br/Trincasíndrome do dente gretadoDiagnósticoFissuraDenteCrackCracked tooth syndromeDiagnosisFissureToothMétodos de diagnóstico de trincas e fissuras dentárias: uma revisão de escopoMethods of diagnosis of dental cracks and fissures: a scope reviewbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ODONTOLOGIA::CLINICA ODONTOLOGICA
