Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Direito) - Departamento de Direito, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2023.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/57207Faced with a brazilian social scenario, whose formation process culminated in a very diverse religious plurality, this research aims to understand how Christianity, especially the Catholic and evangelical segment, has been influencing issues of custody of children and teenagers in Brazil, as well as understanding how that influence is connected with the religions professed by its guardians, that is, by those who have custody of the child or teenagers. To this end, custody cases were analyzed and how the actions of the Guardianship Council influences these cases. Therefore, the approach used was qualitative and descriptive study based on documentary research. To this end, through the analysis of legislation, dissertations, scientific articles, newspaper articles, jurisprudence, researchs and doctrine, the regulations protecting the exercise of religious freedom were presented, the current panorama of religions in Brazil, the crimes inherent to offenses against religious freedom and the scenario of cases of loss of custody, based on the guardian's religion.
