The project started from the observation of the landscape potential of Serra do Lima, in Patu / RN, and the need for a space for leisure and accommodation, due to the growth of tourism as a result of the religious programs of the Sanctuary of Lima, the free flight of paragliding, and ecological and adventure activities. The characteristics of the mountainous climate and of the terrain - rocky, arid and sloping; and without water supply and solid waste collection on site - demanded a proposal that was totally adequate to the conditions of the place. Therefore, the general objective of this work is to elaborate the architectural proposal of an inn in a mountainous climate, taking into account the principles of bioclimatic architecture, the management of the use of rainwater and the rationalization of water. To develop this proposal, it was necessary to deepen the knowledge on bioclimatic architecture, water, energy and solid waste management. The study of design precedents helped to define the architectural program in view of the demand of the target audience. Bioclimatic strategies and simulations in the Climate Consult software guided the architectural solutions adopted for the highland climate in Rio Grande do Norte, as well as the choices of the construction system and the materials used. The rainwater utilization system conducted the formal architectural part of the project, which materializes in the adequate “V” shaped roof in the water collection. The amount of water stored for the dry periods, calculated in the Netuno software, considered the region's rainfall seasonality. The characteristics of the land and the desire to explore the landscape of the region directed the implantation and spatial configuration of the plan of each building.
