A systematic review type study took place from December 2022 to February 2023 in the databases on the Portal de Periódicos da Capes (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel), accessed through the Federated Academic Community (CAFe)/Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, where the databases used were: Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Virtual Health Library (BVS), Web of Science and US National Library of Medicine (PubMed) and Scopus, with the guiding question: Do education professionals have knowledge in first aid to respond to emergencies in the school environment? Research has shown how education professionals are unprepared for urgent and emergency situations, where popular knowledge is widely used, which can be harmful, making it essential to promote simple theoretical/practical knowledge of actions that can save lives.
