At the State School Dr. César Cals, in Fortaleza - CE, this demand was identified through the investigation of the uses that students make of the internet in their daily lives, especially through smartphones. With the realization that students use the information accessed online even for their studies, it is admitted that the qualification of this use should be one of the tasks of school education. For this purpose, in the context of History Teaching, it is argued that the exercise of historian's procedures in teaching situations can contribute to the development of more active (critical and genetic) than passive (traditional and exemplary) historical consciousnesses.
