Admitting this legal guarantee as a precondition for ethical reflection, I defend in this article the need to use the Kantian doctrine of duties and self-care to justify the choice of a healthy food as a duty of virtue, for what it will be necessary to establish the moral dimension of food within the philosophy of Kant. The goal is to show the application of the practical philosophy of Kant in developing a new approach to the current food problems. My defense should be seen as a complement to the utilitarian argument of food, currently found in public policies and food programs, nutrition and food security, which highlight personal and collective benefits derived from the choice of a healthy foodpt-BRAttribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/br/Alimentação saudávelDireito humanoCuidado de siVirtudeKantHealthy foodHuman rightSelf-careVirtueKant em defesa da alimentação saudávelKant in defense of healthy foodarticle
