Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação em Odontologia) Departamento de Odontologia, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2025.https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/62563Composite resins have revolutionized restorative dentistry, and the addition of an antibacterial component to this material has shown promising results for its clinical use in the near future. With this in mind, this study aims to map these antibacterial composite resins. PubMed, Embase, Web of Science and Scopus were searched independently by two reviewers. Studies evaluating antimicrobial capacity, published in the last 5 years and without language restriction, were included. At the end of the screening process, 53 articles were included in this review. The data collected was organized into tables summarizing the results of the evaluation of antibacterial activity and the other chemical, physical and biological properties of the resin. Only one active substance had no positive effect on antimicrobial capacity. The most studied active ingredient was DMAHDM (dimethylaminohexadecyl methacrylate), which had good results. Despite the optimistic results, it is still necessary to carry out clinical studies, given that most of the studies included in this study are in vitro.Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs 3.0 Brazilhttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/3.0/br/AntibacterianosResina compostaRevisão de escopoCárie dentáriaCaracterização de resinas compostas antibacterianas: eficácia in vitro, composição, propriedades físicas e químicas, citotoxicidade e efeito preventivo a lesões de cárie in vivo - uma revisão de escopoCharacterization of antibacterial composite resins: in vitro efficacy, composition, physical and chemical properties, cytotoxicity and preventive effect on caries lesions in vivo - a scoping reviewbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS DA SAUDE::ODONTOLOGIA::MATERIAIS ODONTOLOGICOS
