Aiming at improving the living and health conditions of its carriers, it offers users rapid testing services for STD / HIV, Syphilis and viral hepatitis. Objective: To evaluate the importance of Counseling in (IST) carried out by CTA professionals, in João Pessoa-PB, in the face of epidemiology. Methodology: This is an exploratory study with a qualitative approach. Qualitative research in the field of social sciences responds to very particular questions and is concerned with a level of reality that can not be quantified. It was carried out with health professionals (nurses, psychologists, social workers, biologists) at the Center for Testing and Counseling ISTs and AIDS (CTA), in the city of João Pessoa / PB, as the reference center for the care of patients with infectious diseases, providing comprehensive and multidisciplinary assistance.
