In order to exercise their functions, civil servants, in addition to technical qualifications, need political and ethical skills. Considering problems related to weaknesses related to the ethical posture in work processes, this research aims to analyze the conceptions about ethics in public service of employees of the Department of Health Work Management (DEGTS), belonging to the Secretary of Work Management and Health Education (SGTES) of the Ministry of Health (MS). As specific objectives, this study describes the profile of research participants, understands the meanings of ethics and public ethics for DEGTS servers and identifies the importance and difficulties for the exercise of ethics in the work developed. This is an exploratory research, using a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews with servers working at DEGTS. Data were analyzed through content analysis, in the thematic analysis modality. The research results supported the analysis and reflections to help future decisions related to the studied topic, considering the perspective of disseminating the importance of complying with the ethical precepts that should underpin the performance of public servants. Therefore, the conceptions of the research subjects reinforce the need for a broad discussion of the topic "Ethics" within the federal public sphere and the urgency to foster postures aimed at improving relationships, cementing critical and reflective thoughts in the work process based on on ethical imperatives.Acesso AbertoValoresÉtica no trabalhoServiço públicoÉtica públicamasterThesis
