How to think the residents of that community as historical subjects that are part of the many paths of black families in Seridó, we hope to understand what representations and silence about the Furna da Onca built throughout the twentieth century. In this sense, the stories told by the elders are important elements for the development of this study from the oral tradition. The choice to perform a search on this community occurred through a work of Heritage and Memory discipline Quilombo Communities. Until then unaware of the existence of remaining quilombo communities in Caicó / RN. The biggest surprise, however, was to realize that some of my students not only know the community and live in the land of the Furna da Onca. This discovery brought us even more of the community. The silence about the existence of Furna of the Ounce is therefore the main point of this methodologically based research in the study with oral and theoretically anchored sources in discussions about memory and silences of Michael Pollak, monument, document and history, Jacques Le Goff, and "places of memory", Pierre Nora.openAccessComunidade quilombolaFamílias e MemóriasNa Furna da Onça: história e memória em uma comunidade quilombola no Seridó potiguarpostGraduateThesisHistória
