The mapping of the predominant aquaculture cultures in the state was also carried out, quantifying and demonstrating their geographic distribution. The work was carried out at the Subsecretaria de Pesca e Aquicultura da Secretaria da Agricultura, da Pecuária e da Pesca do Rio Grande do Norte (SAPE) from August to December 2022, totaling 5 months. The collection of data from aquaculture in the RN took place in the databases; IBGE cities, SIDRA (IBGE Automatic Recovery System) and CIAqui (Aquaculture Market and Intelligence Center) from EMBRAPA. Thus, it is possible to highlight that food aquaculture in Rio Grande do Norte is currently represented by: shrimp farming, fish farming and oyster farming. The state produces shrimp, fish (tilapia, carp, curimatã, piau, traíra, tambaqui, tucunaré and pangassius) and oysters. However, the data on oyster farming in the RN are not included in the aquaculture databases, but the data are with a SEBRAE-PB team and will be inserted later, as they arrive more slowly, since it is necessary to meet with the SEBRAE-PB team, in person, for collaboration. The same happens with the cultivation of pangassius, whose data are with producer associations.
