METHODS: A transversal, descriptive, exploratory study was carried out between September and November of 2017, with doctors and dental surgeons as subjects. The data were collected through an instrument idealized by the Ministry of Health, with information from the health unit, professionals interviewed, and professionals' perception about Pharmaceutical Care. RESULTS: 51.7% of the prescribers report that the municipality does not adopt a list of essential drugs or do not know if it exists; in the absence of medicines in the public network 100% recommends the purchase of medicines; 96.6% reported that they did not know any medicine information center (MIC); 75.9% of prescribers do not report adverse events; 96.6% considered pharmacists important as team members.
