Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação) - Curso de Direito, Centro de Ciências Sociais Aplicadas, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, Natal, 2025.1988-7833https://repositorio.ufrn.br/handle/123456789/62426Domestic violence is present in all social classes and it is a cruelly everyday occurrence in Brazilian society, even in light of the Maria da Penha Law. With the aim of making feminicide an autonomous crime and increasing the penalty for this and other crimes committed against women due to their gender, Law No. 14,994/2024 was published on October 10, 2024. Furthermore, this Law aims to establish other measures to curb violence against women, and to this end, it amended articles 92, 129, 141 and 147 of the Brazilian Penal Code with wording that encompasses crimes of violence against women. With Law No. 14,994/2024, the Brazilian Penal Code now has article 121-A, making feminicide an autonomous crime. Other Brazilian legal provisions have also undergone changes in the Maria da Penha Law, the Criminal Misdemeanor Law, the Heinous Crimes Law, the Criminal Executions Law and the Criminal Procedure Code. In view of these changes, this article aims to present them and discuss how the changes may affect the prison sentences related to crimes and their implications for the judicial system in the context of domestic violence, reflecting on whether these changes may influence the improvement of the safety, health, and lives of women in the country. The methodology used was a qualitative approach, with a descriptive and reflective purpose.Direito penalCódigo penalLei nº 14.994/2024Violência de gêneroFeminicídioViolência contra a mulherA Lei nº 14.994/2024 e suas implicações no âmbito da violência contra a mulherLaw No. 14,994/2024 and its implications in the context of violence against womenbachelorThesisCNPQ::CIENCIAS SOCIAIS APLICADAS::DIREITO
