In this sense, placing public libraries websites on this occasion, make them serve as a “virtual gateway” for readers to the world of reading. Therefore, an electronic address that has useful information, and that presents its actions, services and products can attribute new ethical and social values to their users primarily. This work seeks to analyze the websites of public libraries in the states of the Northeast region of Brazil, emphasizing the contents presented, through descriptive research of a quantitative-descriptive and exploratory nature. The categories evaluated are about information regarding history, their present moment, sectors and services, highlights, and mission of public libraries in the region.
