Article Modernisation et restructuration urbaine dans le contexte de mégaévènements sportifs: réflexions sur le droit à la ville à partir du cas de Natal (Brésil)(Revue Urbanites, 2014) Guerra, Eliana Costa; Picanço Sobrinha, Maria Dulce Bentes; Silva, Alessandro Ferreira Cardoso da; https://orcid.org/0000-0001-8368-488XArticle Perigo sísmico no Brasil e a responsabilidade da engenharia de estruturas(Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Norte, 2016) Nóbrega, Petrus Gorgonio Bulhões; Nóbrega, Selma Hissae Shimura daIn Brazil earthquakes are rare, especially those of great magnitude, and the probability of disasters and deaths is so low that normally many engineering designs do not take them into account, regardless of what is established in the Brazilian code about the design of seismic resistant structures (NBR 15421). However, the seismicity in Brazil is not null; especially for some areas, like the passive margin, whose average is higher than 70% when compared to the stable continental region. Earthquakes are unpredictable, but the good engineering must not be. This paper makes a discussion about the importance of considering the seismic action in civil structures design. Also, assess the seismic hazard map presented in NBR 15421, indicating procedures and practices that should be taken to the appropriate design. Although the projects of some buildings, in some areas of the country, can really neglect the seismic action, there is the need to discuss the proper procedures for the special and operation buildings, exactly those ones who should work in case of accident. If it is impossible to eliminate the seismic hazard, the goal is to reduce the vulnerability in order to have an acceptable seismic risk, with an admissible economic and social costsConference Etapas construtivas de estrutura Gridshell pós-formada a partir do processo de elevação PULL UP(2019) Pinto, Edna Moura; Souza, Isabela Cavalcanti deThis publication contains the design employed for the assembly of the Gridshell dunes. S.; Lamberts, R.In the last 7 years, a method has been developed to analyse building energy performance using computer simulation, in Brazil. The method combines analysis of building design plans and documentation, walk-through visits, electric and thermal measurements and theuse of an energy simulation tool (DOE-2.1E code). The method was used to model more than 15 o3ce buildings (more than 200 000 m2),located between 12:5◦ and 27:5◦ South latitude. This paper introduces a method to estimate the influence of architectural design decisions on the building energy performance, during the early stages of the design. The study assumes that early design decisions are the most important and therefore suggests a method of assessment that is non-specific to the whole building geometry although may represent multiple forms and layouts. The tool is based on a graphic interface that is linked to a database, which as initially created to represent the office buildings of Brisbane Australia (warm humid summer and mild winter). The database consists of results of total and end-use electrical energy consumption of approximately 38 000 combinations of 11 variables: geographic orientation, room depth, ceiling height, window-wall ratio, vertical shading angle, horizontal shading angle, glass type, wall construction, day lighting and blinds control, ventilation type and efficiency of building services. The graphic interface allows the qualitative and quantitative study of combined effect of variables and the estimate of the design’s performance to be carried out. Due to the instantaneous access to the data-base by the interface, the consultation takes only a few seconds.
