This paper is the conclusion work of degree course in pedagogy of Federal University of Rio Grande do Note, campus Caicó. Discusses the rights of the school manager in child education, the democratic management and the process of direct election for school leaders. The used methodology was an qualitative interview with the present manager of the Municipal Center of Child Education of São João do Sabugi, RN, where was possible to know the mode of management of that institution as well the work of the manager while coordinator and articulator of the educational process. The paper is endorsed by autors like FREIRE (2001), GADOTTI (2005), FERREIRA (2001), and others.
