The study of thermodynamics for the enhancement of these systems is crucial and has a direct contribution to this evolution. Refrigerants are of great interest in the academic field because, in addition to directly impacting system performance, they have a significant influence on environmental issues. In this study, with the help of the Coolpack software and Microsoft Excel, analyses and discussions were conducted on the simple refrigeration cycle using propane (R290), isobutane (R600a), and propylene (R1270) as refrigerants. Through the CoolPack simulation, it was possible to obtain the performance coefficient values for each variation of the analyzed operational parameters. This work aims to simulate a simple vapor compression refrigeration cycle using R410A refrigerant. The focus of this study involves investigating, by using the software Coolpack, the sensitivity of the coefficient of performance (COP) of a refrigeration cycle in relation to various operating and design parameters: evaporation and condensation temperatures, superheating and subcooling, pressure drops in the evaporator, condenser, suction, discharge, and liquid line, as well as the isentropic efficiency of the compressor. The acquired results show that the coefficient of performance (COP) of the refrigeration cycle operating with R410A is strongly influenced by the variation of the evaporation and condensation temperatures, and the isentropic efficiency of the compressor. The use of refrigeration is diverse, and it is applied in numerous industries and businesses for both thermal comfort and food preservation. The objective of this study is to analyze the influence of operational parameters such as condensing temperature; evaporating temperature; superheating temperature; subcooling temperature; pressure drop in the condenser; pressure drop in the evaporator; pressure drop in the suction lines, liquid line and compressor discharge lines; and the isentropic efficiency in the coefficient of performance of a vapor compression refrigeration cycle operating with ammonia, R717, using CoolPack software. The simulations using CoolPack are performed from a reference cycle varying the operational parameters according to equal and specific increments for each parameter.
