    Activité et compétences professionnelles dans des espaces culturellement et linguistiquement hybrides: le cas des professionnels de santé à la frontière Uruguay-Brésil
    (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, 2016-04-15) Caraballo, Gimena Natalia Pérez; Falcão, Jorge Tarcísio da Rocha; https://orcid.org/0000-0002-2798-3727; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9066230660650393; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1772336803611288; Bolzman, Cláudio; Derivois, Daniel; Vergnaud, Gérard; Passeggi, Luís Álvaro Sgadari; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4021473858264190; Acioly-Régnier, Nadja Maria
    This research focuses on the study of health professionals who work on the border between Uruguay and Brazil. This area is characterized not only by a “culture of the borderlands”, but also by multilingualism because two standard languages (Spanish and Portuguese) as well as two local dialects (Portuguese Gaucho da Fronteira and Uruguayan-Portuguese - popularly called portuñol) are found in this territory. It is in this particular sense that we are trying to understand how healthcare professionals work in such a singular and complex area. The aim of this research is to study these workers’ professional activity and the competences they employ in their domain to better take care of the patients living in the border. We wonder which competences, other than technical, are necessary to these professionals to ensure a suitable and efficient care of the patients whose socio-economic, linguistic and cultural background may differ from theirs. We have chosen to work on this subject using a variety of techniques, which differ greatly but are all relevant in helping us achieve a holistic understanding of the topic we are studying. In this way, we will mention francophone ergonomics, the theory of conceptual fields developed by Gerard Vergnaud, the clinic of activity, and research from the domain of intercultural studies. More specifically using the historical-cultural theory of mind developed by the Russian school of psychology (in particular Vygotski and Leontiev’s work), we will study the professional activity and competences expressed through this activity. For this purpose, we have conducted this study with 208 Uruguayan and Brazilian professionals, using five methodological tools: ethnographic observations, a questionnaire, informal interviews, the so-called instruction to a double, and self-confrontation interviews. The results of this research show that the health professionals who work on that borderland seem to have developed a set of competences, other than technical, in order to provide more suitable and efficient care. Moreover, and in these quantitative and qualitative results, we have noticed that this culturally hybrid context is not an obstacle to their professional activity. On the contrary, in some cases, it is even likely to help them develop other skills and take initiatives that exceed what is demanded by technical requirements as well as their job's requirements.

    (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, 2012) Hazboun, Andressa Moreira; Alchieri, João Carlos; Silva Filho, José Humberto da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6407212894793482; Bendassolli, Pedro Fernando; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1325459110950508; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2604308409737867
    Psychological Assessment (PA) is very important to the development and social image of the profession. Despite the context in which it is practiced, it has to be based on criteria supported by theory, technical and tacit abilities from professionals, This research aims to characterize aspects of profile and practice of these professionals in different contexts and regions of the country; identify and characterize the criteria used by Brazilian psychologists in their choice/use of Instruments; and verify if there is methodological similarity between professionals. For this purpose, an Online survey was conducted with 932 psychologists. The main results indicated a profile which is consistent with previous analysis that show: high number of women, youth, graduated in private universities, with little experience, working few hours per week and in more than one context. Recent trends of decreasing prevalence of the Southeast region and clinical area were highlighted. The poor variety of criteria mentioned in instrumental use and the evidence of conceptual confusion between PA and psychological testing are concerning. The PA area requires: investments in PA processes and Instruments aimed at social needs and also beyond the clinical context; academic qualifications and continuum training; and creation of guidelines/guides that promote better practices in PA.

    Na fronteira da exclusão: ações de enfrentamento à violência na juventude
    (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, 2012) Souza, Candida de; Paiva, Ilana Lemos de; Oliveira, Isabel Fernandes de; Sento-Sé, João Tranajo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1588515627010993; Bezerra, Marlos Alves; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4923847817582059
    In present day society, violence, mainly in urban centers, has emerged as one of the main consequences of the “social question”, having great impact on many people's lives, especially the young ones.Therefore, the government has been called to act in preventing and combating this form of rights violation. The situation in Natal/RN corroborates national rates concerning the incidence of violence in youth, and reveals alarming data, specifically in its suburbs.It was decided to define the field of research in the district Felipe Camarão, given the historical high homicide rate against its young population. The aim of this study was to identify and to examine initiatives focused on prevention and combating against youth violence that are being developed in Felipe Camarão, in what basis they have been developed and how they translate into action. More specifically, it aimed to achieve a survey and characterization of the institutions that have actions focused on the young people in Felipe Camarão, as well as to analyze the professionals' starting point for the implementation and coordination of actions in the process of violence reduction, identifying what they do and how they do it. Ten institutions were identified as having their full or partial actions focused on the young population. It has been conducted focal groups with professionals from all institutions. Data were analyzed from the perspective of historical and dialectical method, based on the Método Comparativo Constante (Grounded Theory). The results were presented from three analysis lines: the conceptions of professionals on violence; the initiatives towards violence prevention in Felipe Camarão; and the challenges and perspectives found in the violence reduction process. We point out that the phenomenon of violence presents itself as commonplace in people's lives, which contributes to strengthening a culture of fear, as well as stigmatization of a neighborhood, whether in media or in social imaginary. Actions aimed to young people need to be better structured, articulated and to have a critical perspective on the process of violence prevention, in addition to greater territorial coverage. We argue that the implementation of actions with emancipatory nature, especially to young population, allowing them to build new projects for life, associated to a strengthening of state action in the preventive scope, through policies for high quality education access and dignified work opportunities, in addition to the consolidation of an effective social capital, are important factors in the process of violence reduction in Felipe Camarão.

    Relações entre inteligência, criatividade e funções executivas: um estudo multicasos
    (2018-09-06) Porto, Silvia Beltrame; Pires, Izabel Augusta Hazin; ; ; Falcão, Jorge Tarcísio da Rocha; ; Falcão, Taciana Pontual da Rocha;
    Intelligence can be defined as a set of cognitive abilities emerging from different intellectual processes, builded in exclusive paths of development, as a result of the interaction biological and cultural factors. The intelligence quotient (IQ), known as the expression of an individual's level of ability in relation to their normative data, lines up groups at intelligence curve of development, describind groups of intellectual disability and giftedness. However, it is argued in this study, that such groups do not opose each other in completude, wich means that intelectual disabilities and giftedness are configured by points of strength and fragility. On the other hand, the relationship between intelligence, executive functions and creativity have provoked fruitful debates. In this sense, the current study aims to investigate how these dimensions can relate with the extremity groups of intelligence curve, investigate the relationships between these dimensions in the two extremes of the intelligence curve, triyng to understand these neuropsychological profiles beyond a quantitative approach. Sixteen individuals between 12 and 20 years old, with IQ classifications at the two extremes of the intelligence curve, participated in this study. The dimensions of intelligence, creativity and executive functioning were evaluated. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics and cluster analysis. The main results suggests that verbal comprehension dimension of intelligence is the domain wich better explains the difference between groups, and processing speed is the one with smaller diferences between them. In terms of executive functioning, operational memory and cognitive flexibility emerged as the most distinct abilities between groups. At last, enrichment factor of ideas explained the main diferences between individuals of both groups, related to criativity production. It is hoped that the results found may subsidize interventions in both groups, either considered with special educational needs, from the profiles that characterize them, considering fragility points, but especially the points of strength, moving towards an understanding of special education beyond the limits imposed by the quotient of intelligence, since it is not here considered as destiny.

    Leukemia is classified as the most common type of cancer in the age group between 0 and 19 years, being the most frequent Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in childhood and responsible for 75% of cases among children under 15 years of age. Cancer alters the child's life in many ways. Cognitive changes are identified, but also behavioral changes and learning disabilities that do not have their etiology fully understood. In this sense, the need to investigate the behavioral and learning profiles of ALL survivors is identified. Thirty-six children and adolescents aged seven to 13 years participated in the study, being 14 girls, divided into two groups, being G1 of ALL survivors and G2 of typically developing children and adolescents matched to G1 from age, sex and type of school. G1 members were treated exclusively with chemotherapy. Behavioral, learning, and reintegration profiles were assessed by applying the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) to parents and teachers of the Deasy-Spinetta Behavioral Questionnaire (DSBQ). Data from both instruments were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Pearson's chi-square test was used, adopting the p value <0.05, as a parameter to analyze the levels of significance between the domains that make up the research instruments and the socio-demographic variables of gender, age at diagnosis and treatment time, as well as for comparing parents' and teachers' conceptions of the participants' behavior and learning process. The data point to the high prevalence of internalizing complaints and learning disabilities, especially among girls and those who were diagnosed over the age of five. Additionally, convergence in the opinion of parents and teachers regarding the domain of behavior was identified, but significant difference regarding the learning process. The results presented emphasize the need for monitoring of ALL survivors, promoting interventions that ensure the full development of these children and adolescents, ensuring the quality of life after the disease.

    A atuação do psicólogo nas organizações não-governamentais que atendem a pessoa com o transtorno do espectro autista
    (2019-10-30) Souza, Raniele Epissara Nonato de; Oliveira, Isabel Maria Farias Fernandes de; ; ; Scott, Juliano Beck; ; Pereira, Renata Rocha Leal de Miranda;
    The insertion of Psychology in the scope of inclusive public policies in Brazil, calls for action focused on the social, ethical and political commitment of the profession. The inclusive paradigms of segregation, institutionalization, normalization, integration and inclusion bring with them conceptions about the diversity resulting from inequalities and exclusion. In the social context, NGOs that are part of the so-called “third sector” are gaining strength, since, as they soften social tensions, making the State not responsible, they play a fundamental role in the execution of social policies aimed at specific groups, namely people. with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The aim of this paper is to understand the psychologist's role in the non-governmental organizations that are part of the “third sector” in Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, which assist the person with ASD. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with 09 psychologists. The results indicate individual psychotherapy as the predominant psychological practice, reinforcing the traditional clinical model of Psychology. In addition, the psychologists demonstrated not knowing the specific public policies aimed at the clientele served, revealing a depoliticized, a-critical and inadequate praxis for the social reality to which these subjects are inserted. Finally, it is argued that Psychology must reinvent itself in its knowledge and practices, articulating theoretical and methodological references with political action, in an attempt to minimize social inequalities and exclusion.

    (2015-06-08) Gonzalez, Poliana Carneiro de Medeiros Aguirre; Alchieri, João Carlos; ; ; Campos, Paulo Roberto Paiva; ; Almeida, Leandro Silva;
    In the last decades with the democratization of access to Brazilian higher education and the high repetition rates and university evasion, investigations on how students study and use the resources in the learning process are essential due to the complexity of factors involving success academic. The objective of this research was to investigate the study skills, habits and attitudes (SSHA) used by college students and its relationship to academic performance. This was a study of broad scope, descriptive, observational and retrospective ex post fact, performed with students from undergraduate courses of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) in the areas of Biosciences (CB), Exact (CCET), Health (CCS), Human Sciences (CCHLA) Applied Social (CCSA) and Technology (CT). The sample consisted of 1,443 students distributed in 55 undergraduate courses, being most women (56%), with predominant age of 19-22 years (54.7%), single (92.4%), with predominant family income between 1 to 5 minimum wages (65.8%) and that made the whole high school in a private school (44.1%). The instrument used was an online questionnaire with answers on Likert scale developed by the masters student and collaborators, and applied by the information system of the university (SIGAA). The instrument included sociodemographic variables and study SHA (study conditions, motivation, time management, planning of studies, exploitation of classroom studies and optimization of the reading). Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistical (relative and absolute frequency) and inferential (correlation, analysis of variance and multiple linear regression), having as a dependent variable the Academic Efficiency Ratio (IEA) used by the university. The results in the regression analysis to better fit in the model were: Exact (R ² = 0.57), Technology (R² = 0.29) Biosciences (R² = 0.26) and Human Sciences (R² = 0.20). The SSHA predictor variables of study for common academic performance between areas were: the taste by studies, set goals, organize notes of materials to avoid accumulation, meet schedule and study schedules, participation and attendance in class and write summaries of readings. The peculiarities of each area were: the students of Exact seem to feel motivated to be challenged to learn new things, Health students refers to the attitude of valuing their studies recognizing the future benefits, students of Bioscience underscored a time to make physical activities, students of Technological area have mentioned to make notes about the teacher's explanations for re-read them later. Students of Applied Social reported a complementary reading indicated by the teacher and Humanities students indicated the habit of reading books your particular area. It is concluded that identify, characterize and verify the recognition of college students and the importance of SSHA by knowledge area, provides higher education institutions rethink their teaching methods, their indicators and benchmarks also seeking to encourage the creation of programs guidance for the study and promote academic success.

    (Trans)passando os muros do preconceito e adentrando a universidade: uma análise das políticas para pessoas trans* dentro das instituições públicas de ensino superior do Rio Grande do Norte
    (2019-10-30) Souza, Emilly Mel Fernandes de; Paiva, Ilana Lemos de; Bezerra, Marlos Alves; Silva, Georgia Sibele Nogueira da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1062059652170019; Jesus, Jaqueline Gomes de
    At present, the discussion on trans issues has received wide visibility in view of the social vulnerability to which this group is subjected. The term “trans person” would be the popular form in which transvestite and transgender people are known and are collectively treated as part of the transgender group. Trans people have, throughout history, been excluded from various spaces, including education, with transphobia, which is hatred and aversion to trans people, the main vector that causes these exclusions. However, even in the face of an alarming context of social vulnerability, transgender people have reached higher education, and this has been facilitated by a series of resolutions guaranteeing the right to the social name and, consequently, respect for gender self-identification in higher education. several levels. This qualitative research, anchored in the theoretical framework of Transfeminism, together with the discussion of several trans authors, of which the concepts of cisgenerity and transphobia are central, sought to understand how the policies of access and permanence of trans people occurred in Rio Grande do Norte (RN) Public Higher Education Institutions (IPES), and consequently, what were the demands of this segment in the IPES. To accomplish this goal the research was done in three steps: 1) A documentary analysis, to verify and identify if there are policies in IPES of our state that are focused on the demand of the trans population; 2) Semi-structured interviews to identify, through the speeches of the research collaborators, what their demands are when they arrive at the IPES and 3) A triangulation of the data where the result of the analysis plus the interviews were triangulated with the research author's story. Participated in this study 8 trans people from 4 IPES of the state of RN, The analyzes and interpretations were inspired by Bardin's Content Analysis where three thematic axes were systematized from the transcripts of the interviews. From these three thematic axes, we can see how the presence of trans people in the university space is marked by cracks, demands and (trans) formations. Regarding the results, supported by the axes, we observe: a) That although all and all are trans, there are differences and similarities between trans experiences in the academic space and these are permeated by various intersections; b) That transgender people present differentiated demands, in addition to those placed by IPES, ranging from corporeal demands to material subsidies, also suggesting the need for quotas; and c) Trans bodies are inventive because they are self-governing people and (trans) shape the academic space in which they are turning their struggles into concrete policies. Finally, this research opens the way to think and defend the demands and trans bodies in IPES, serving as a subsidy to think which policies could be more effective to guarantee not only the access, but also the permanence of trans people in this space.

    Mulheres e agroecologia no Rio de Janeiro: construindo uma política feminista a partir das margens
    (2019-03-28) Costa, Maria da Graça Silveira Gomes da; Dimenstein, Magda Diniz Bezerra; Leite, Jader Ferreira; ; ; ; Schwade, Elisete; ; Macedo, João Paulo Sales; ; Toneli, Maria Juracy; ; Diniz, Raquel Farias;
    This study aims to understand the protagonism of women in the agroecological movement through their conceptions and practices. We take the feminist epistemology as theoreticalmethodological base, seeking to consider the various crossings that characterize these contexts, to look at the modes of subjectivation of activists within the movement of Agroecology, both in national sphere, and in the local sphere to following the women’s movement from Rio de Janeiro’s West Zone. As methodological tools, we use the analysis of documents of social movements and of the policies of promotion for Agroecology, interviews with activists and the participant observation of events, meetings and the daily lives of our speakers. The results indicate that: although the movements are building narratives based on the importance of the construction of feminisms and agroecology as social transformation projects that constitute each other, there still isn't a full recognition of the role and knowledge contributed by women; at the same time, international policies and programmes linked to The United Nations- U.N. mobilized an institutional discourse of empowerment that refers to neoliberal ideas considering the increase in production as a way to "equality" between genres. The results also show that in the scenario of crisis, militarization and precarious State in Rio de Janeiro, women are building a popular feminist politics from the margins, wich re-significating subalternized places to indicate other ways of politics, producing knowledge and occupy the cities. With this we see that agroecology is composed on a know-power that, if on one hand can be captured by speeches that try to undermine your potential insurgents, on the other hand, with the strategies that are being built especially from women, as an important vector of political subjectivation amidst urbans and rural social movements.

    Perspectivas de profissionais dos serviços de acolhimento institucional sobre o direito à convivência familiar e comunitária
    (2016-07-28) Soares, Thamires Pinto; Paiva, Ilana Lemos de; ; ; Bezerra, Marlos Alves; ; Morais, Normanda Araújo de;
    This paper aims to discuss the right of family and community life from a historical analyses of social care policies for children and teenagers who live in poverty, and the context of institutional care related to this group. Therefore, three different social care services from the same municipality have been investigated through semi-structured interviews with the professionals and participant observation. The sample collected was organized into the following categories: (1) General characteristics of the institutions, (2) Public attended, (3) Work with families, (4) Community Living and (5) Articulation with other institutions. The analysis was based on dialectical historical materialism. The units operate in the institutional shelter model, and children and adolescents received are distributed according to their age and groups of siblings. The families attended are characterized by experiencing poverty, low education, drug use, family violence, among other difficulties. Thus, the social work seeks to overcome these problems and to strengthening family ties, so the child can return to family living. The contact between kids and families is maintained, as well as the community living. Finally, the articulation with other institutions shown to be essential for the resolution of cases. The results show that, despite some difficulties perceived on the services studied, it is possible to conclude that they intend to soften the paradigm established by the Child and Adolescent Statute and the National Plan for Family and Community Living, in order to overcome the exclusionary practices of social coexistence. Improvements which can guarantee the right of family and community life are still needed.
