Article Sujeitos com deficiência visual e a educação como determinante social de saúde(Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), 2020-09-03) Amorim, Érico Gurgel; Medeiros Neta, Olivia Morais de; Guimarães, JacileideWe aimed at analyzing education as a social determinant of the health of subjects with visual impairment, with emphasis on mental health, identifying the difficulties perceived and the coping strategies used in relation to daily adversities. It is, therefore, a descriptive and exploratory research with a qualitative approach. For data collection, we conducted semi-structured interviews with visually impaired subjects at the ophthalmology outpatient clinic of Onofre Lopes University Hospital (HUOL), in the city of Natal. The data were treated in light of the thematic analysis method described by Minayo (2008) and the contents of the listed registration units, inspired by the model of Social Determination of Health, proposed by Dahlgren and Whitehead (1991). Therefore we performed a theoretical exercise to demarcate an understanding pedagogy of the city, taking as inspiration the book Invisible Cities, Italo Calvino. The reports and city models we constitute possibilities of reading pedagogy of the city from the dimensions of the urban lifestyle, learning the right to the city, the educational functions of the city, the urban hermeneutics and a sensitive front of the urban posture
