Abstract

This article aims to expose the storytelling in the teaching learning process in early childhood education, as well as the process of awakening interest and taste for reading in the formation of future readers. When telling a story the teller should entice in the child the pleasure for reading, curiosity, orality and imagination. From the stories, children can discover attitudes and new perspectives in order to begin thinking critically over the reality. Furthermore, the taste for reading contributes to the formation of the personalithy of the child in its social and affective aspect. With this article, we intend to point out the importance of children's stories, particularly of fairy tales and show the ability that the teacher must acquire to be a good storyteller. The theoretical discussions presented in this work are based primarily in Abramovich, Amarilha, Coelho, Cosson and Zilberman.
