O presente artigo foi desenvolvido com a finalidade de responder a seguinte questão: “como os contos clássicos abordam o tema da afetividade e de que forma ajudam o professor a trabalhar o afeto em sala de aula?”, através dessa questão foi feita a analise de dois contos: O patinho feio e Cinderela. Para tanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica da qual utilizamos livros e artigos que abordam o tema estudado. A pesquisa está embasada em autores como Bettelheim (2002), Corso (2007), Abramovich (1995), Coelho (2003, 2005) e Calvino (1993). Concluímos que a afetividade está presente na literatura infantil, e que elas ajudam o educador a trabalhar de variadas maneiras, pois auxilia os alunos no desenvolvimento emocional e cognitivo, além disso, desperta a criatividade, autonomia e a criticidade para a formação de caráter pessoal.

This article was developed with the purpose of answering the following question: "how do classic stories address the theme of affectivity and how do they help the teacher to work affection in the classroom?", Through this question was made the analysis of Two tales: The Ugly Duckling and Cinderella. For that, a bibliographical research was carried out of which we used books and articles that approach the studied subject. The research is based on authors such as Bettelheim (2002), Corso (2007), Abramovich (1995), Coelho (2003, 2005) and Calvino (1993). We conclude that affectivity is present in children's literature, and that they help the educator to work in a variety of ways, as it assists students in emotional and cognitive development, and awakens creativity, autonomy and criticality for the formation of personal character.
