O contexto de eventos na Pandemia: uma análise histórico descritiva à luz da Gripe Espanhola e da Covid-19

Abstract

The events suffered in a context where human beings felt the need to explore the unknown, seeking new forms of entertainment. In the case of events that have their origin in classical antiquity, reaching the contemporary period, until becoming an economic and social activity, bringing various socioeconomic benefits. They are mainly characterized by the gathering of people or entities with the aim of celebrating important events and staying, whatever their motivation. It will always be linked to the movement of a large number of people and most of the time to tourist activity. The main objective of this work is to identify the impacts suffered by the events sector during the pandemics of the 20th and 21st centuries, with emphasis on the effects resulting from the Spanish Flu and COVID-19. As specific objectives, some points were drawn, namely: To present a brief study on the realization of events throughout History, seeking to demonstrate its importance and identify its consequences for the events sector. The methodology is characterized as a descriptive and exploratory research. The data collection instrument used is a bibliographical research through books. The directions point out that the events sector was one of the hardest hit, having been the first to stop and the first last to return with its activities. From then on, it is possible to conclude that the pandemics that occurred at the beginning of the 20th and 21st centuries will reach all parts of the globe, saying economies, showing that despite all the development and technology acquired, nothing beats mother nature. Numerous companies in the field of events and service provision had to close their doors, because once their activities were paralyzed, they could not remain in the market. Events have reinvented themselves, presenting themselves in new formats, adapting to this new reality that the pandemics have brought.
