Ajuste matemático para curvas granulométricas de areias da cidade de Natal/RN

Abstract

Today's world is very fast and dynamic, we are having access to much more information and faster, so the search for technology and ways to simplify day-to-day obligations, is the fundamental role of engineering. The faster we get knowledge about something, the faster we can find the best solution for some emergency situation. In civil engineering one of the first factors to be analyzed is the soil and subsoil from where a certain construction will be executed. The present work has the intention of making an adjustment of the granulometric curves of the sands of the city of Natal and region, in order to speed up the engineer's field work, helping the identification of the soils to form more simplified. A set of 23 granulometric curves of the region was searched in different works and thesis, the points of these curves were removed, the mathematical adjustment was made to find a generic equation and based on it was proposed two models of equations that had the intuition of identifying approximately the granulometric curve of the soil analyzed. It would be enough for the professional of the area to perform the sifting of the soil with the sieve #200 and determine the percentage passing and replace in the proposed equations. The two proposed equations showed the results with a good approximation of the original granulometric curves. But it is necessary to emphasize that these methods do not replace the granulometric analysis, they are only measured for greater agility in circumstances of high information demands.
