Abstract

Historically, men and women with sexual orientation other than heteronormative have suffered from prejudices and discrimination on the part of society. This reality has crossed historic times and still plagues gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transsexuals and transgenders, with denial of rights and unequal access to public policies, among them, the right to health in a universal, integral and equitable way. This part of the population has suffered from these historical repercussions, which results in the fact that they are more vulnerable and susceptible to illness and early death. In this sense, recognizing the social and institutional obstacles that hinder LGBT users' access to health equipment, we aim to implement the intervention project "The segment of lesbians, gays, transvestites, bisexuals, transsexuals and transgenders, humanized access to health and prevention of sexually transmitted infections in Iguatu / CE ", which is divided into four axes, namely: approaches, qualified listening, implementation of actions and intervention with health professionals. The main objective of the project is "To recognize the complexity of LGBT health, its needs, specificities and difficulties of access to health in a universal, integral and equitable way, intervening in an ethical and humanized way in this conjuncture and contributing to the construction of a culture of peace social discrimination, institutional homophobia, with a view to reducing inequalities and social vulnerabilities that have historically been inflicted on gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transvestites and transsexuals.
