Abstract

This Final Graduation Work takes place at a time when the condominiums closed by high walls with ample leisure areas and shopping malls have become housing and leisure solutions, respectively, increasingly desired and adhered to by the population, contributing to The loss of urban vitality and socio-spatial segregation. Therefore, it is of fundamental importance a greater offer of public areas geared towards culture and leisure, that allows to rescue and stimulate the cultural identity by the population. The choice of this theme was due to be a resident of Pium and observe the great presence of cultural and artistic expressions in the neighborhood, but in diluted spaces and with the participation of small social groups, and the great idleness of the young population. Therefore, it is intended to create visual axes, which in turn suggests the implantation of the constructed elements, in order to guarantee the greater permeability of flows, especially by pedestrians, and to provide a more harmonic relationship between the surroundings and the new set. Although within the limitations of its scale, architecture, which also includes landscape design within the boundaries of the area destined to the Cultural Center, is conceived as an articulating element of the different situations that characterize the context physically and spatially. In order to meet educational, artistic and cultural demands, flexible and multifunctional environments will be created, which will meet the demands of leisure and knowledge of the different age groups, from the children's audience to the elderly. Therefore, this work advocates the creation of an artistic-cultural space that can integrate all the social groups of Pium and surroundings, offering cultural activities and workshops, being the stage for artistic presentations, and democratizing the teaching of arts and culture.
