Jardim restaurador para o Lar do Ancião Evangélico em Natal/RN

Abstract

The Restoration Environments for the Third Age have been outstanding worldwide in view of the search for spaces that adequately meet the elderly public and gardens that provide the restoration through the contact, interaction and contemplation of nature. Considering that the Brazilian elderly population is growing and with it the concern for the well-being and the quality of life of the third age, there is a lack of planning of spaces open to that public, that are adequate, attractive and welcoming . Therefore, the general objective of the present work was to propose a Restoration Garden for the Institution Lar do Ancião Evangélico “Home of the Evangelical Elder”, based on the understanding of how the restorative spaces can be allied to the promotion of well-being in the third age, understanding the relationship of the elderly with the free spaces and ways of transforming them into restorative environments, as well as contributing to the discussion about the need to create spaces geared towards the elderly. Through a Bibliographic Review, Interviews and Survey and Data Analysis, the proposal was presented for an attractive and functional Restorative Garden, aimed at meeting the local demands and needs of the residents, who sought to apply the concept of Restoration both physical and psychological, as well as native flora and fauna and human relations, besides preserving the natural and awakening of new experiences, senses and affective memory.
