Cultura escolar da Escola Doméstica de Natal: memórias de uma ex-aluna (1968 - 1978)

Abstract

This monograph presents the teaching model of the Domestic School of Natal and provides an analysis of school culture based on the memories of a former student who studied at the school between 1968 and 1978. To this end, the research was based on bibliographical research. on the websites of the UFRN Repository and the BDTD - Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations, whose results were obtained using the keywords “Home School of Natal” and “Female education in Natal”. It aims to identify the dimension of domestic education in Rio Grande do Norte, the insertion of the female figure in the area of education and the influence of school culture on the life of the former student interviewed. In this way, the work is based on the conceptions of school culture by Julia and Munakata, in addition to Saviani on school institutions and Theodoridis on public history. It is justified by the relevance of the content in the historical context of the development of the city of Natal, in Rio Grande do Norte and by the contribution to the teaching of history, especially for research on oral history. It is concluded that the public interview brings a more validated foundation to the research in the sense of contributing to oral history, in addition to providing conditions for reflection and feasibility for other research within and outside the educational context. It is a study that covers the field of School Culture expressed through the memories of a former student who experienced the curriculum of the Domestic School of Natal during a period of military rule in Brazil.
