Evolução econômica do município de Mossoró/RN

Abstract

Describing the historical course that characterizes the evolution of the economy of the city of Mossoró. However, before discussing this issue in full details we must first and foremost establish theoretical fundamentals issued from the economic literature, in particular, by noting rather the several senses that local growth/development are usually employed, we begin with the description itself, which includes the historicalsocial framework of the city's foundation, followed immediately by the three main activities. which, admittedly, settled out the city and its economic dynamic, namely saline and oil activities and irrigated fruit growing. In what follows, we will first deal with a broader analysis by placing the local economy in the larger context of the state and Brazilian economies. For this we are provided data from IBGE and from the empirical literature. From the intended description, and having these data at hand, it is plausible to conclude the contribution of each activity mentioned from the outset in the general calculus within the economic dynamics of Mossoró, and to note the presence of other remarkable new activities in the municipal GDP, namely the service sector.
