A importância do centro de atenção psicossocial na saúde mental: uma revisão integrativa

Abstract

The present work takes as its essential task to perform an analysis of relevant research results that support and strengthen the debate about the process of psychiatric reform and the importance of the Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS). The method used for this work is the integrative literature review, a method that aims to gather and synthesize the contributions/knowledge already produced about the object that is to be studied. The research was carried out in November 2021, using the descriptors: Mental Health, CAPS and Psychiatric Reform. This work presents as a general objective to analyze the scientific literature on the importance of CAPS in the effectiveness of Mental Health in the Virtual Health Library (VHL), having as a database the Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS), published from 2010 to 2021. The specific objectives are focused on: analyze the concept of madness for mental health, as well as the trajectory of the Mental Health Policy in Brazil; analyze the role of CAPS in the construction of the new mental health model. As for the results of the research, from the analysis of the theoretical references, it is inferred that the Psychosocial Care Center is a strategic element for the humanization of care in Mental Health, and that its expansion and development triggered a new model of mental health.
